Brief History of Westholm

Races except for humans were created in a Babel-like event when the Firscomers tried to ascend to the level of their gods. The gods smote them and fled, sundering the Firstcomvers into Elves, Drow, Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, and Halflings. Each race claims to be closer to the “original” form of the firstcomers, but no one can tell for certain. Humans came in two waves from the East, settling first in the South, then later and from a different region in the North. They introduced agriculture and claimed most of the arable land to the east.

The first humans to arrive were explorers seeking bounty. The second wave were fleeing a war which devastated their home. Trade between continents has dropped precipitously and many suspect the war to have decimated civilization back east.

Kor the Wise learned agriculture from the humans, and there are a few farms and steddings in the plains near Kormund. These are often raided by Szar Tchun Gobliins who do not bother raising grain themselves. There have been defensive sorties from Kormund, though the last legit war was over a generation ago.
